Thank you for looking into volunteering with Asksu Palliative Care Society. We are a non profit volunteer society. Our General Meeting is held in October.
We have monthly meetings. We can be called to sit with patients if family requests. Our big event is the Service of Remembrance in December. We do provide opportunities to connect to volunteer training.
Sometimes you are interested in helping and providing support and information but cannot commit to monthly meetings. You could receive the emails, get connected with our volunteer training, and be contacted when we need extra support.

The services that Akasu Palliative Care Society provides are very valuable to the communities of Vegreville, Two Hills and Mundare. There is no Hospice nearby so end-of -life care is done in St. Joseph’s General Hospital. These stories are from families who have experienced the Palliative care rooms and family room while caring for their loved ones. They best explain the value of these rooms when caring for an end-of-life patient.
